The UBC Equity & Inclusion Office has launched the Workplace Accessibility & Inclusion Action Research (AIAR) Toolkit to help facilitate meaningful conversations among faculty and staff about disability in the workplace.
Aligned with UBC’s commitment to accessibility and inclusion through the Strategic Equity and Anti-Racism (StEAR) Framework and the Accessible British Columbia Act, the toolkit provides a practical, step-by-step process to:
- Start conversations about disability and accessibility in the workplace
- Identify and address accessibility barriers
- Implement and sustain inclusive practices
The toolkit includes resources such as a Unit Assessment Survey, action planning templates and guidance for team-based reflection and learning. It is self-directed and flexible, allowing teams to work through the steps at their own pace.
