Dr. Arig al Shaibah has broad and deep experiences advancing equity, diversity, and inclusion (EDI) in community and in higher education, where she has worked to action commitments to addressing systemic inequities, promoting intercultural dialogue, and fostering accessible, inclusive, and dignified learning and working spaces where campus community members can thrive.

Human Rights
The Human Rights advising team works collaboratively to uphold and promote the human rights and responsibilities of all UBC community members.

Strategic Partnerships & Capacity Building (SPCB)
The SPCB team works collaboratively with campus partners to provide strategic implementation advice and support to mobilize and sustain the integration of equity, antiracism, and inclusive excellence principles and practices across organizational ecosystems, and build capacity for individual and systems change.

Institutional Initiatives Planning & Evaluation
The IIPE team supports efforts that advance equity, diversity and inclusion at the institutional level, including but not limited to the IAP, Employment Equity Plan, CRC Equity, Diversity and Inclusion (EDI) Action Plan, and participation in the federal Dimensions pilot program.

The Operations team is comprised of Administration and Communications teams that work in collaboration with other EIO teams to ensure the smooth delivery of programs and services designed to advance inclusion across the university.

The Inclusion, Diversity, Equity and Anti-racism (IDEA) team at UBCO provides faculty and staff with strategic advice and resources to support and grow a respectful culture of inclusion, equity and diversity.
