Renewing our Commitment to Equity and Diversity

Following the intense community response to a number of sexist and racist chants heard during student-led September FROSH events on the Vancouver campus, Professor Stephen J. Toope convened a Task Force to develop actionable recommendations to address issues of gender-based violence and Aboriginal stereotypes.

After the draft Task Force report was released earlier this year, the University community provided valuable feedback on these recommendations.

Equity and Inclusion Office Annual Report

UBC Equity Office underwent significant restructuring throughout 2013 as reflected in its new name: Equity and Inclusion Office (EIO). The report includes a summary of Implementing Inclusion at UBC, a report on the 2012/12 equity and diversity consultations and recommendations; UBC responses to the Implementing Inclusion report; EIO education strategy; EIO’s key programs and initiatives; and UBC’s Policy on Discrimination and Harassment.
