Bio

Hélène provides strategic planning and implementation support for organizational change initiatives focused on systems, processes and institutional practices. Their work has focused on initiatives related to creating supportive work and learning environments for trans and non-binary students, faculty and staff, including questions of gender data and gendered records (names, pronouns, etc.). They provided strategic and operational support to the Trans, Two-Spirit and Gender Diversity Task Force.

Hélène also works to implement the Canada Research Chair EDI Action Plan, with a focus on helping develop an infrastructure for more accessible and equitable hiring practices. In close collaboration with the Centre for Teaching, Learning and Technology, Hélène has also helped develop leading pedagogical strategies, educational modules, and learning tools to support equity, diversity and inclusion in teaching and learning spaces.

Hélène has a PhD in Sociology from UBC.
