On August 22rd, join us for a discussion on the state of healthcare and mental healthcare services for transgender individuals in Kelowna.
As part of the event, you’ll have an opportunity to hear from and connect with diverse attendees and speakers, including members of queer and trans communities, healthcare service providers, and UBC Okanagan.
Broadly speaking, this event seeks to:
- increase staff and attendees’ knowledge around the importance, necessity, and tactics of working with trans students and other community members, particularly (but not exclusively) in a healthcare context;
- generate knowledge of local gaps and resources for trans community;
- gain greater understanding of training opportunities available to attendees in their respective fields;
- provide a networking opportunity among local providers and community members.
