Overview

This International Pronouns Day, join the Sexual Violence Prevention & Response Office (SVPRO) in unravelling the gender-binary by learning more about diverse gender identities! This interactive and arts-based workshop on Trans Allyship will give UBC students the opportunity to learn about the foundations of allyship and how to respond to transphobia in their communities.

Pride Programming is a series of events that creates space for UBC students, faculty and staff to celebrate Pride year-round. Explore more Pride Programming 2023-24 events.

What to expect

  • Explore practical skills that will help you support your gender-diverse friends, family-members and classmates.
  • Learn all about pronouns, pride and cis-gendered privilege
  • Unlearn harmful stereotypes and gender roles
  • Discuss how to identify anti-trans bias, discrimination and hatred, as well as how to safely respond
