Queer Orientation – 2021 Pride Picnic

Come out to enjoy live music, story telling, cotton candy, popcorn, balloon animals and more at the annual Pride Picnic! This is the largest event during Queer Orientation and aims to be a magical celebration of UBC Okanagan’s vibrant 2SLGBTQIA+ community. Starting right at 5:00pm artists will include Madeline Terbasket, Soul Pool, Post Modern Connection and DJ Meemz. COVID plans will be in place to ensure a safe event for all in attendance.

We are committed to following these protocols at the Pride Picnic and to do our best to stop the spread of COVID-19.

a. hand washing facilities or alcohol-based sanitizers will be within easy reach of the food  stations;
b. signs reminding participants to wash or sanitize their hands before touching self-serve food, drink or other items, will be posted at the self-serve station; and
c. high touch surfaces at the station, will be frequently cleaned and sanitized.
d. Hand sanitation supplies will be readily available to participants.
e. Toilet facilities in the EME with running water, soap and paper towels for hand washing and drying purposes, or hand sanitation supplies, will be available for participants.
f. The organizers will monitor the number of persons present, and ensures that the number of persons present does not exceed the maximum number permitted for an outside event,
g. A participant must not attend an outside event at which there are more persons present than are permitted, and must not enter a place, or must leave a place, if so directed by the organizer or a member of staff.
h. Participants will be asked to wear a mask if the 2m social distancing can’t be maintained.
