Bio

Ravneet earned a Bachelor degrees in Arts and Law, as well as a Master’s degree in law from UBC’s Peter Allard School of Law. She is inspired by the possibility of enhancing people’s lives by improving access to and advising on legal rights and working towards more equitable and inclusive societies.

Ravneet worked as a lawyer at a private firm practicing civil, commercial, and family law before shifting to work as a lawyer in a Migrant Worker’s Centre practicing human rights law, employment law, and immigration law in federal and BC provincial contexts. Ravneet has assisted clients with intersecting identities and diverse life experiences, who are among the most vulnerable communities. Ravneet also contributes her expertise and energy to community work for the South Asian Legal Clinic of BC, and she has had experience as a peer student facilitator and later lawyer working with individuals who have experienced sexual harassment.

Through her academic training and professional work, Ravneet has amassed advising, case management, relationship-building, research and education, as well as communication and negotiation with diverse stakeholders and policy-makers.
